TERRIBLE BOOGIE TEXTILES, ongoing as of September 2018
Oil, acrylic, linocut, brayers, and occasional monotype on second hand or vintage fabrics whenever possible. This page automatically updates from my Instagram feed.
These textiles celebrate the desire to beautify through surface decoration, often through the use of natural motifs in home decor. The time-consuming process of hand-printing challenges the prevalence of instant gratification and questions labor’s purpose and monetary worth in our society. I am also interested in similarities across systems of visual organization, particularly if they stem from rectilinear and geometric forms (such as patchwork and architecture.)
